The Saskatchewan Problem Gambling Helpline answers 24 hours a day, with trained counsellors on the line.

The helpline

The Saskatchewan Problem Gambling Helpline is 1-800-306-6789. Calls are free and confidential, and the line is open 24 hours. Trained counsellors answer, so the person on the other end knows the subject. There is no need to have a plan or the right words before dialling.

Mobile Crisis Services, Inc. runs the helpline. Funding comes from SLGA and LGS, and the Ministry of Health gives program direction.

Saskatchewan residents can also get free problem-gambling counselling through the Saskatchewan Health Authority. No doctor's referral is needed. A person can ask for that counselling directly, without going through a family doctor first.

Self-exclusion

Game Break is a voluntary, confidential self-exclusion run by SaskGaming. It covers all casinos in the province and PlayNow.com, for a term of 6 months to 5 years. Once it is in effect, it cannot be shortened or removed. To enrol, a person goes to Customer Service or Security at a casino, or books an appointment with GameSense staff at 306-787-2122.

SIGA Voluntary Self-Exclusion can be requested at any SIGA casino or by appointment at SIGA Central Office in Saskatoon. It also lasts 6 months to 5 years, and it bars the person from all nine Saskatchewan casinos. No one can enrol another person in either self-exclusion program.

Neither program covers the private online casino behind the Ad links on this guide's home page. That site is not PlayNow, and it has no connection with SIGA, SaskGaming, LGS, SLGA or any casino in this guide.

More places to call

Gamblers Anonymous Saskatchewan keeps a 24-hour hotline at 1-855-781-9522. At Casino Regina and Casino Moose Jaw, GameSense staff can be reached at 306-787-2122, and both casinos have a GameSense Info Centre. The GameSense line is the same number used to book a Game Break appointment.

For First Nations treatment, the Prince Albert Grand Council Holistic Wellness Centre takes calls toll free at 1-866-765-5305 or at 306-953-7285. The File Hills Qu'Appelle White Raven Healing Centre is in Fort Qu'Appelle. Call it toll free at 1-866-748-8922 or at 306-332-2608.
